State Services

Pathfinder Career Services provides vocational services for the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

We understand that your work, health, and personal life are all connected.

Work plays a large and important role in our lives. Our work can have a big impact on our physical health, mental health, home life, and personal life. Similarly, our health and personal life can also impact how we perform at work. We do our best to explore all the parts of your life that might impact your work so we can help you find a successful path forward in the world of work.

Our State Services:

Comprehensive Vocational Evaluations

We take the time to understand your history, abilities, aptitudes, needs, and disability. This information is collected through forms, talking with you, and formal assessments. The goal is to identify possible short- and long-term career goals that are a good fit for you.

Work Site Evaluations

Together, we spend time at a local agency where you perform real work-tasks. While you work, we are there to observe and support you. The goal is to test out a work environment that might be a good fit for you and to identify your strengths as a worker.

Simulated Skills Assessments

You will complete simulated work tasks outside of a work place. Common skills that are assessed include: technology use, work-from-home, clerical, assembly work, manual dexterity, and more. The goal is to identify your strengths and skills as a worker.

Our Evaluation Process:

  • Once you’ve selected Pathfinder Career Services as the vendor for your vocational evaluation, your DVR counselor will send us a referral. Once we receive the referral, we’ll get in touch with you to introduce ourselves, schedule our meetings, and to provide you with intake forms to complete.

  • We’ll go over your intake forms together to make sure we understand your unique situation before we do any assessments. This meeting usually takes place over the phone.

  • We will meet together to do testing and assessments to help answer questions from you and your DVR counselor. This meeting usually takes place in person at your local library.

  • Together, we will go over your assessment results and do some career exploration. This meeting usually takes place over the phone or on a video call.

  • We send a written report to your DVR counselor. You and your DVR counselor will use the information in the report to decide on the next step in your DVR case.
