Carson has worked for eleven years in both non-profit and private rehabilitation agencies supporting individuals with disability. Five of those years included positions within the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). After accruing years of meaningful experiences supporting communities in Boise, Idaho and Portland, Oregon, he decided to pursue his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (RMHC) at The University of South Florida part-time while working full-time at Florida DVR. During his time in graduate school, he joined the Rehabilitation Service Administration (RSA) Scholar Program.

Carson has a passion for helping individuals achieve their employment goals. As an evaluator, he explores ways an individual may succeed in their areas of interest. Sometimes his clients are unsure of where their skills fit, or would like a change from where they have worked in the past. Carson knows there is no time like the present to work toward career goals. He reviews abilities and transferable skills using evidence-based strategies to identify ideal career routes relative to the unique characteristics and strengths of a person. When individuals struggle to reach a specific goal, he explores multiple related careers so an individual can achieve satisfaction and purpose in their daily work. Carson has worked with individuals with a wide variety of physical and mental disabilities over his professional life and he specializes in providing recommendations that guide successful rehabilitation.

In addition to vocational rehabilitation, he has also provided forensic vocational evaluations requested by attorneys for litigation of personal injury, marital dissolution, and worker’s compensation.
